Lymington yacht charter

Lymington yacht charter offers you the perfect place to commence your sailing adventure. You will pass through the New Forest National Park on your way to us. Here ponies and donkeys meander through the high street in Brockenhurst. On leaving our berth, we firstly make our way down the Lymington river passing the salt flats home to large colonies of little terns. During this period of 15 minutes or so you will remove the mooring warps and fenders and stow them away. We will probably be under engine power at this point to concentrate on staying in the navigable channel.  On arriving in the Solent we turn into the wind to hoist the mainsail. Meanwhile the engine ‘stop’ lever is pulled by which time one of your crew will be at the helm. Time now to give some instruction on how to tack the yacht and reach our target destination. Destinations and Solent Events

We operate generally between Alum Bay at the western end of the Isle of Wight to Portsmouth Harbour. More experienced groups might sail across Christchurch harbour to the beautiful National Trust blue flag beaches of Studland Bay. On longer trips we will continue along the Jurassic coast to Weymouth harbour.

We encourage you to get the most of your time on the water with us by combining your sailing experience with up close viewing of one of the many major sailing events taking place every year in the Solent. Catering

We have fully equiped galleys on board from which hot and cold drinks can be served. In addition our trade mark afternoon cream teas whilst at anchor in a breath taking location. One such spot is the amazing coastal scenery in Alum Bay. Another is a creek on the Isle of Wight where you can view seals on the nearby rocks. You may opt to bring your own luncheon picnic. Moreover we can put you ashore at one of the spectacular waterside restaurants. Our favorites include The George at Yarmouth, and the Folly Inn on the Medina River. Further The Hut at Colwell Bay and Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth. But please check out this highly recommended option on the other side of the harbour entrance The Lightship The image on the left is from one of our weekend hen events in 2023 using two yachts for 14 crew plus skippers.
