Days Out For Birthdays
Plan a unique birthday sailing experience with friends and family, many itineraries to choose!
Plan your birthdays out with your family and friends
Bring up to 7 (yacht type 1) or 13 (yacht type 2) people on one of our days out for birthdays. This is a sailing yacht experience to mark one of the landmark birthdays, 40th, 50th, 60th, 70th etc. We have organised many of these over the 20 years we have been operating and know how to give you the very best experience. For example we visit quaint Solent harbours, rivers with historical significance and mystifying creeks full of wildlife. More information on the Solent can be read at the end of this description. No prior sailing experience is required, moreover the activity suits all ages.
Itineraries for days out for birthdays
A full day birthday trip allows passage to the Hamble River, very popular with visiting yachtsmen and yachtswomen. Secondly the intriguing Wootton Creek home to the Royal Victoria Yacht Club which welcomes us from time to time. Further to the east Portsmouth Harbour is home to Gunwharf Quays with its outlet shopping and lively waterside bars and restaurants.
To the west of our home port of Lymington are the bays of Colwell, Totland and above all Alum with its multicoloured sandstone cliffs very close to the Needles lighthouse. Continue across Christchurch bay to the beautiful National Trust blue flag beaches of Studland and Poole Harbour (the worlds second largest natural harbour).
Catering
A variety of options exist for drinks and refreshments ashore or on board. These include providing your own picnic or visiting a pub on the Isle of Wight. There is also a full galley on board. Please note that we do not have a licence to sell alcohol however you may bring your own. We have certain complimentary offerings on board for our stops at anchor such as morning coffee with chocolate biscuits, in addition afternoon tea and cakes or cream tea at your choice when booking.
Activities
Swimming from the yachts bathing platform on the stern with its hot and cold freshwater shower is always popular. Fishing and learning to row the dinghy helps entertain the younger ones although we have always found hosing the yacht down at the end of the day seems to delight the most? Meanwhile all the family can join in and try their hand at operating the boat. Learn how to tie it up to the dockside with a bowline or figure of eight and where to position the fenders. Take the helm, hoist and trim the sails and tack the yacht when beating to windward.

‘Hi Clive, I just wanted to say thank you very much for Sunday’s yacht trip. Andrew loved it and it was a great way to celebrate his 30th birthday. We will certainly be recommending you to anyone thinking of doing something similar for a special celebration. We were so lucky to have such brilliant weather as well. Thanks again!’
