Solent Sailing Trips

Solent sailing trips offer you the opportunity to get out on the water in a 40ft sailing yacht. Certified to carry 7 crew plus the skipper, you have the option of a half day trip, a full day or longer. We like to sail with the tide which changes direction every 6 hours approximately, one hour or so later each day. So we may go with the ebbing tide towards Alum Bay with its spectacular scenery. Or follow the flood tide east towards all sorts of marvellous destinations.

Comforts

Yachts have large cockpits with cushions and a drinks table. Down below is a coolbox, kettle and toilet compartment. If you decide to take a dip from the bathing platform a hot and cold freshwater shower is at hand. The image left of us under full sail is taken in the Solent from our drone.

Catering options for Solent sailing trips

We have operated these sailing experience events for many years and know all the best waterside restaurants and bars. One of the restaurants at Colwell Bay sends a rib out for the crew once we have dropped anchor. Another favourite is to bring your own picnic to enjoy whilst moored in Newtown Creek close to the seal colony. We can also organise local marine caterers to provide a delicious meal on board. Complimentary hot and cold drinks plus cakes are always available.

Please note that all safety equipment is included and free car parking is close at hand. Neither do we charge for use of our wet weather suits if required. A 25% booking deposit will secure dates with the balance payable a week or so before the event. These are not necessarily private charters, individuals may book on many of the trips we run. These include viewing the many regattas such as Cowes Week in August. Bargain prices are available on crew training trips, please enquire.
